- 作者蘇時學，廣西藤縣人。晚清廣西詩壇上異軍突起的著名詩人，"粵西十四家"之一。其作品結集爲《寶墨樓詩册》傾注了作者畢生的人生抱負和生活感悟，倍受同時期的詩人及後世推崇，共收録詩810題，1238首，全面細緻地展現了他對詩歌創作不屈不撓的追求歷程。全書共分爲十五卷，現存兩個重要版本，其一爲咸豐十一年蘇時學自編的十三卷本，其二爲其弟蘇時習同治十三年所補刻的十五卷本。本書以咸豐本爲底本，以同治本爲參校本。
