Summary:
Artist Philipp Goldbach and photo historian Steffen Siegel explore the possibilities and limitations of knowledge circulation in the late GDR. By transposing and reproducing the index of Andreas Krase's extensive slide collection, created during his time teaching at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst / Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig from 1985-1990, their visual and lexical artwork spotlights how the history of photography was presented through subversive techniques that sidestepped the restrictions of the East German state.
