- Summary:
- The guariba's singing is a book about the neglect with which we deal with the difficulties of adolescent children in Brazil, at the beginning of Pacaraima / RR, but which can be related to a reality present in much of the country, mainly that of peripheral communities. Above all, there are reports of experience, made by scholarship holders of the Guariba Literacy Project (Pacaraima, 2011-2017). From these reports, it is possible to access the pedagogical and theoretical dimension of the Project and the reality of the children referred to it. What is most discussed in this book is the tragic way, it can be said, that we end up holding children responsible for not being able to learn or having inappropriate attitudes to the school environment, even if such children find themselves in adverse situations promoted by the family, the school, the municipality, state, country. Based on the reality of the children referred to the project, there is nothing to celebrate about the educational process directed at them.
