The story tells the tale of Cunhã, a teenage girl from the Amazon, curious, brave, and full of love for the Amazon. She lives in Manaus and decides to take her three friends—Gerson, a shy and studious boy; Manu, a sweet and intelligent girl; and Jaque, her mother, who accompanies them and takes care of everyone—on an incredible boat trip from Manaus to Parintins to experience the famous Folklore Festival. During the journey along the Amazon River, Cunhã introduces her friends to the charm and wisdom of the forest. She shares legends, such as that of the Curupira, the protector of the forests with backward-facing feet. Each stop along the river reveals new lessons about Amazonian culture, riverside communities, animals, and the importance of respecting nature. Young people experience moments of adventure, discovery, and friendship while learning the value of identity, traditions, and forest preservation. Upon arriving in Parintins, they are captivated by the colors, dances, and songs of the festival—the magical meeting of the Garantido and Caprichoso bulls—and realize that the Amazon is much more than a place: it is a home of stories, magic, and ancestral wisdom.
