Written for Shemuʼel ben Yosef Meshoḥrar (colophon (f. 46r): "... אל יהיה בעזרו ובטעמיו במעלת שמו שמואל בן יוסף משוחרר הי"ו ..."; his surname indicates that he was part of the Meshuchrarim of Cochin (romanized Meshuḥrarim) who were manumitted slaves of mixed racial descent associated with the Paradesi Jewish community).

Summary:
Simḥat Torah liturgy of Cochin, written by Leṿi ben Shem Ṭov Hallegua; the liturgy begins with קומו ברנה עדת אמוני (the first of the Cochin Haḳafot; see Seder Tefilot shevaḥot ṿe-shirim... ke-fi minhag Anshe Shingili (Amsterdam : Proops, 1756/7, folio [alif]3)) and completes with the special Kaddish (f. 37r-40r), followed by an addenda of piyutim (קול שמחה וקול ששון השמע בחודש הראשון, f. 40r; שערי פדות אפתחה, f. 40v-41r; אחד יחיד ומיוחד, f. 41r; יגלה כבוד מלכותך, f. 41v; ישרו בעיני כל דרכיך [attributed to Judah ha-Levi], f. 42r; and שלמית שובי by Solomon ben Mazzal Tov (f. 44v). Written in thirteen lines (Simḥat Torah liturgy portion, f. 1r-40r) and fifteen lines (piyutim portion, f. 40r-45v), frame-ruled in lead (pricked on line); written in a Sephardic square script, vocalized.
