Dove Cottage sitting room. The chest, clock and couch in this room were all owned by the Wordsworths when they lived in Dove Cottage. The 'cutlass' chair was used by William Wordsworth when writing and it is in this room that he would recite his poems for Mary or Dorothy to write down. The view from the window originally looked down to Grasmere Lake and the valley.
