An edition of all Syrian translations of the New Testament, presented synoptically and chronologically. The translations are edited here for the first time. The citation material is assembled, reflecting lost translations (Vetus Syra, Philoxenia). In the introduction there are extensive discussions of all complexes of traditions. A reconstruction of the Greek "Vorlage" of the Harclean version, with complete collations of the related Greek manuscripts, as well as numerous indices, also make the work available to the non-specialist.

Der Band bietet eine Edition sämtlicher syrischer Übersetzungen des Neuen Testaments in synoptischer und chronologischer Darbietung. Die Übersetzungen werden erstmals kritisch ediert. Das Zitatmaterial, das verlorene Übersetzungen (Vetus Syra, Philoxeniana) widerspiegelt, wird zusammengestellt. Die Einleitung bietet ausführliche Erörterungen aller Überlieferungskomplexe. Eine Rekonstruktion der griechischen Vorlage der Harklensis mit Vollkollationen der verwandten griechischen Handschriften und zahlreiche Indizes erschließen das Werk auch für Nichtspezialisten.
