The surgical anatomy of the female pelvis is complex. Both its topography and functional anatomy are of great importance for any gynecological surgeon: thus he knows which vessels have to be preserved for the blood supply to vital structures and which nerve structures must be conserved for the function of the hollow viscera and thus post-operative quality of life. Laparoscopy offers the ideal instrument for the stage of topographical anatomy through the seven times magnification and the need for bloodless operation. This book sets out the vascular, nervous and lymph node lead structures in their topographical context.
