- Handbound by Joe D'Ambrosio in brown cloth and Mexican bark paper onlaid in a Zapotec design on the front cover; "letterpress printed on two colors of Confetti paper"; illustrated throughout with block prints by Joe D'Ambrosio and embellished with two pop-up illustrations which are hand-colored and contain real feathers; laid in a green handmade paper container, which is tied with yucca.
- "This special edition of Oaxaca and the saguaro cactus is bound in Clansman Niger Goat and limited to only 25 copies. It contians inclusions which are not in the regular edition. They include: Title pages - metal tunic underlaid with 23k gold leaf. Page 8 - Quezalcoatl underlaid with copper leaf. Page 9 - Coatlicue underlaid with silver leaf. Page 16 - Cocijo underlaid with aluminum leaf. Page 18/19 Quezal bird color feathers keyed to actual bird. Page 48/49 Goddess primary pheasant feathers."--Inside cover of box of special edition.
