- Matthias C. Müller (Dr. phil.), geb. 1970, hat seit 2005 regelmäßig Lehraufträge für Philosophie und Ästhetik an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe wahrgenommen und wurde 2015 von Peter Sloterdijk und Michael Hampe promoviert. 2005 gründete er die Akademie »Der Philosophische Garten« in Stuttgart und Berlin. Er veröffentlichte u.a. den Lebenskunst-Essay »Alle im Wunderland. Verteidigung des gewöhnlichen Lebens« (Diederichs Verlag, München, 2010).

- Jeder Mensch steht in einem mehr oder weniger klaren Verhältnis zur eigenen Person, zu dem, was man auch das Selbst nennt. Hierbei spielt der Raum eine entscheidende Rolle – denn der Mensch ist nicht begreifbar ohne den Ort, an dem er sich aufhält.Matthias C. Müllers raumtheoretisch fundierte Neubeschreibung des philosophischen Großthemas Selbstheit bzw. Subjektivität zeigt nicht nur, daß menschliches Dasein nicht ohne Bezug auf das Wohnen im Raum begriffen werden kann, sondern auch, daß eigentlich nicht der Mensch den Raum hervorbringt, sondern vielmehr der Raum den Menschen.

- Each individual has a more or less clearly defined view of himself or herself, of that aspect which is also termed one's self. Space plays a decisive part in that – because the human existence is not tangible without the location humans find themselves in. Matthias C. Müller`s space-related, theoretically well-founded new description of the major philosophical subject of being yourself - respectively subjectivity – shows not only that the human existence cannot be understood without relating it to living in space but also that actually it is not man who creates space but rather space which creates man.
