- Senior Citizens Clubs stellen eine transnationale Form von Freizeitorganisationen für ältere Menschen dar. Als teilnehmende Beobachterin verbrachte Carolin Oppermann mehrere Monate in zwei Clubs in Kuala Lumpur und hat mit den Senioren getanzt, gesungen, gekocht, gemanagt, organisiert, gelernt, entspannt und diskutiert.Ihre Analyse zeigt, wie diese älteren Menschen ihre Clubs formen – wie sie Mitgliedschaften inszenieren, Entscheidungen treffen, die Finanzierung sichern, Ordnungen immer wieder aushandeln und die Clubs mit Bedeutung versehen. Die Ethnographie bietet neue und unmittelbare Einblicke in die organisierte Freizeitgestaltung älterer Menschen.
