- Kurt Röttgers (Professor i. R.) war von 1973 bis 2007 Mitherausgeber des Historischen Wörterbuchs der Philosophie. Er forschte und lehrte von 1984 bis 2009 als Professor für Philosophie, insbesondere Praktische Philosophie, an der FernUniversität in Hagen. Im Jahr 2010 ernannte ihn die Ungarische Akademie der Wissenschaften in Budapest zum Ehrenmitglied. Seine Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind Sozialphilosophie, Geschichtsphilosophie und Philosophie der Medialität.
- Summary:
- Der Begriff der Identität, ehemals viel diskutiert, scheint heute an Sprengkraft verloren zu haben. Die Gründe hierfür sind wohl darin zu suchen, dass Medialität mittlerweile an die Stelle von Anthropozentrik und Subjektzentrierung getreten ist.Daher wird hier erstmals ein Identitätsbegriff vorgeschlagen und entwickelt, der nicht mehr der Kontinuitätsvorstellung folgt, sondern den Ereignischarakter von Identität hervorhebt und der daher für Philosophie und Sozialwissenschaften gleichermaßen anschlussfähig ist.

- The concept of identity, much discussed in the past, seems today to have lost some of its explosiveness. The reasons for this can most likely be found in the fact that mediality has now taken the place of anthropocentricism and subject-centrism. For this reason, here, for the first time, a concept of identity is proposed and developed which no longer follows the expectation of continuity, but rather emphasizes the evental quality of identity, and which for this reason is equally compatible with philosophy and the social sciences alike.
