Summary:
Dr. Alvin R. Mahrer works with a young man who has difficulty expressing his emotions. They work through Dr. Alvin R. Mahrer's four-step format: Accessing inner experiencing and being in the moment of strong feeling; form an integrative relationship with inner experiences; being present in the inner experiencing of earlier life scenes; and being the new person in the present. The client re-experiences a recent opening of communication with his father and then works to access and express the emotion he feels for his wife by re-experiencing an occasion in which he knew he should have behaved differently toward her
