Summary:

In this session, Dr. Wendy Greenspun works with a partnered lesbian woman who presents with anxiety and feelings of depression that have arisen in relation to concerns about the climate crisis. The client, a graduate student in environmental studies, feels ambivalence towards sharing with her wife her decision to not have children in the face of the climate crisis. Greenspun explores the client's early family experiences, specifically around asking for support, and she connects some of these early experiences to the client's interpersonal functioning today. Finally, Greenspun works with the client to examine how she may connect to different parts of herself, some that she feels have been lost as a result of her more recent anxieties. Together, they agree to work to explore ways of sharing her anxieties with her wife and to feel more connected to herself.This video features a client portrayed by an actor on the basis of a composite of cases
