Summary:
In this session, Dr. Thema Bryant leads a teenage client in finding pride in their identities and navigating their relationship with their family. Bryant explores the factors contributing to a lack of understanding from the client's family surrounding their gender identity. The dyad also explores ways the client can use their voice to advocate for other marginalized populations and honor their heritage as a child of Mexican immigrants. In the closing of the session, the dyad collaborates to create affirmations that feel personally meaningful to the client.
