- Patients seeking treatment for chronic pain often are using opioids to cope with their suffering. The behavioral treatment strategies demonstrated in this video program are intended to assist therapists as they offer interventions to patients struggling with chronic pain who have relied on opioids. These strategies are intended for patients at every stage of opioid management, from those considering stopping opioid use, to those in the process of opioid tapering or who have recently discontinued from opioids, and to those currently using opioids effectively for pain. During the interview conducted by Dr. Michelle Siegel, Drs. Jennifer L. Murphy and Samantha Rafie discuss the efficacy of their approach, which integrates several behavioral strategies drawn from cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.
