- Summary:
- This video demonstrates mentalization-based teletherapy with a client who presents as a White adolescent male who has experienced a sports injury that cost him his ability to play. In this session, Dr. Trudie Rossouw helps the client to identify his emotion states, including shame and depression, and to explore his self-image across different areas of his life. Using a series of questions and empathic interpretations, Dr. Rossouw also helps the client to understand other people's mental states. Dr. Rossouw encourages the client to challenge his self-criticism and to entertain alternative perspectives about his central concern of belonging in his communities
