- Summary:
- The parents of four children--a ten-year old and three eight-year old triplets--are concerned that they have grown apart after a series of life challenges. They describe feelings of anger toward each other and a lack of intimacy. At the therapist's invitation--and with the couple's consent--this third session of the series is also attended by a mutual friend of the couple. She has known both partners individually since before they were married. The therapist questions her about the early period of her friendship with both members of the couple and elicits her recollections about what they were like as individuals and together, when they were a new couple and in love. He also questions the friend about her feelings for the couple now and her worries about the rift in their marriage
