- Lisa J. Miller uses spiritual awareness therapy to help clients look at the changes and challenges in their lives and try to understand them from a spiritual perspective. She works collaboratively with clients to uncover what signs, messages, and opportunities are presented to them in their path for spiritual evolution. She believes the universe is alive and has intentions for each individual and for humanity. Miller works with a female client who is going through a divorce and faces challenges as she completes her doctorate degree and adjusts to being a single mother with six children. Together, they talk about the client's past experiences that have deepened her faith, for example, when her first daughter passed away and when she donated a kidney to a student. They also discuss how she acts with intention and faith in the universe and how this helps her realize that the transition to being single with her children presents an opportunity for change,spiritual growth, and self-awareness
