Lisa J. Miller uses spiritual awareness therapy to help clients look at the changes and challenges in their lives and try to understand them from a spiritual perspective. She works collaboratively with clients to uncover what signs, messages, and opportunities are presented to them in their path for spiritual evolution. She believes the universe is alive and has intentions for each individual and for humanity. Miller works with a female client who begins the session by describing a dream that she and other family members have that signals a new child born into the family. She also discusses her serious health issues and how news of the new child lifts her spirits. The client then talks about her work as a hairdresser and how she feels spiritually connected to her clients and feels she is there to listen, help, and be helped by them. Because of her health issues, she realizes that she needs to make a career change. They discuss how setting an intention and living life in dialogue with the universe will help her intuitively know when to make this change
