Summary:
Using integrative Adlerian therapy, Jon Carlson works with a recently married couple in their 20s experiencing marital conflict. In this first of six sessions, the therapist tries to understand and illuminate the interaction process that leads to their conflict. Carlson also attempts to understand the transgenerational patterns of behavior in the couple's relationship. The therapist joins with the couple to help them identify and align their goals and learn to choose thoughts, words, and actions that support the positive goals of their relationship
