- Dr. Jon Carlson continues therapy with a female client who is seeking help with trust issues, especially involving men. She has had a problem trusting men throughout her life, and this has grown worse since her husband of 5 years cheated on her last year. They begin by discussing the idea of "I am wrong" being the most important words in a relationship. The client reiterates her problems in admitting when she is wrong but is also learning that a lot of her assumptions about her husband and other people are wrong. Dr. Carlson asks her what her goals are for the week as far as their work is concerned and determines that she would like to continue to learn to communicate with her husband. Dr. Carlson suggests asking questions rather than interrogating, and letting him know that she is asking to learn information, not to convict. This will help him open up and trust more. He also suggests that she and her husband set aside some time each day to touch base and talk uninterrupted
