Summary:
Using integrative Adlerian therapy, Jon Carlson works with a recently married couple in their 20s experiencing marital conflict. In the second of six sessions, Carlson works with the clients to validate each other's views and feelings. He attempts to help them understand that each person's feelings and behavior are the result of subjective perception. In so doing, he explains that people can't fight without the other's full cooperation and that each person is reinforced for their inappropriate dialogue. He also identifies ways in which each of the clients can reduce the harm of their behavior
