Summary:
The female client reports depression over the long-term illness and death of her mother and subsequent need to transfer colleges to be closer to home; yet she suspended her studies altogether to pursue a more rewarding career path in massage therapy and fitness (training for Pilates, yoga, et cetera). The client states that the relocation and reorientation experience has made her more resilient, but Dr. Jon Carlson asks about the underlying issues. The client eventually discloses anger over the family structure being "ripped apart" and her need as the eldest child to assume the mother figure role to take care of the other family members after the mother's death
