Summary:
Dr. Jon Carlson continues therapy with a middle aged woman who wants to learn better coping skills for dealing with stress. Since the last session, she has been taking more time out of the day for herself. She doesn't like feeling so rushed all day, so they talk about what she can do to make sure she has enough buffer time when she is doing so many things. She doesn't want to let her illness dictate how she lives, but doesn't want to get any worse, so she needs to find a happy medium. Dr. Carlson suggests maybe that she can carry on as usual for short periods of time, but schedule rest breaks for herself. Dr. Carlson again asks about her spiritual beliefs and if she has sought any comfort or help from those avenues, and she says that she does, but sometimes she is just too angry at her situation to go to church. Dr. Carlson talks to her about all of the work that she is doing to help her situation and to take care of herself, and that she should be proud of herself for her handling of the various situations in her life. He emphasizes her strengths and encourages her to keep finding ways to ask for and accept help
