Summary:
Judith V. Jordan works with a 42-year old woman who has been divorced twice and is raising two sons alone. Client's father was verbally and emotionally abusive; her first husband abused alcohol and other substances; and her second husband was verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive. Client herself is verbally abusive to her children. She experiences an extreme sense of loss about her first husband, who abandoned her. With therapeutic authenticity, Jordan works to build a strong empathic connection with the client
