- Summary:
- In this second session of 6, Dr. Pamela A. Hays works with an African-American man in his 60s who has multiple children (most of whom are adults, some of whom are younger). Together they reviewed homework from the previous session. Client continued talking about his struggle to schedule time with his children as well as his emotional reactions to having children later in life. Dr. Hays and the client identify that being a good father is a core value for the client and he hopes to feel good about himself as a father in the future. Dr. Hays encourages the client to identify both practical actions and cognitive changes that the client could make in order to achieve his goal of becoming better adjusted to parenting from a distance. At the end of session, Dr. Hays and the client discuss what he will do for homework before next session
