Summary:
Lorne Ladner works with a middle-aged man whose business is failing. He is several thousand dollars in debt, unable to pay his employee, and in danger of losing his truck and apartment. The client reports feeling trapped, helpless, and depressed. Ladner works with him to identify how he is adapting and learns that his Alcoholics Anonymous participation is a positive force in his life. Ladner discusses strategies that will help the client get through the present difficulty by focusing on and realizing his deeper goals in life of helping children and the elderly. As the session ends, the client has committed to taking a first step by stopping by a nursing home to offer his help
