- Summary:
- Ann Vernon works with a single mother of four who is experiencing guilt about her parenting and anxiety about her ability to support her family. She is in the process of divorcing an abusive husband who refuses to see all but one of the children. She has arranged counseling for her children and takes an active role in their schooling, despite working two jobs and making preparations to return to school. In Session 4, the client shares that she found a better job and quit her job working for her brother, which set off a family conflict. Vernon helps the client examine her anger at the lack of support in her family and rehearses an assertive and constructive dialogue with the client for dealing with her controlling and critical mother
