- Dr. Robert Allan works with a 51 year old woman with a family history of heart disease who is experiencing some cardiac symptoms. Dr. Allan explains the mechanisms of angina vs. a heart attack and describes some of the available treatments, such as angioplasty. He also discusses diet, suggesting that the client see a nutritionist for guidance. Later in the session, the client reveals that she is depressed, and Dr. Allan explains that depression is a major risk factor for heart disease; he suggests that she talk to her psychiatrist about a medication adjustment and start psychotherapy
