Summary:
"In this session, Dr. Keith A. Kaufman introduces a male golfer and his coach to the Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE) program. Based on the work of Jon Kabat Zinn (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction; MBSR), MSPE applies principles of mindfulness to athletic performance. Dr. Kaufman introduces his clients to the concept of mindfulness - paying attention deliberately and nonjudgmentally to the present moment - and walks them through four of the six modules of MSPE: a diaphragmatic breathing exercise, a breathing meditation, a walking meditation, and a golf swing exercise. Throughout the session, Dr. Kaufman and his clients discuss ways in which mindfulness-based approaches can help one manage distractions and emotions during athletic performance"
