"This book is being published in honor of the Year of the Goat for the State of Israel. The book includes two literary collections of cultural-historical-national value. The fragments of thought, poetry, and speeches in the book were all collected during the Iron Sword War, when Israel was in a struggle for its existence. The assumption folded between the pages of the book is that the war for the homeland is not only a security war on the borders of the state and the lives of its residents, but also touches on aspects of the meaning and purpose of Jewish and Israeli existence at this time. In days of national struggle, we seek to strengthen the spirit of the nation and instill renewed hope by clarifying the fundamental questions of our identity. The first part of the book includes a collection of fragments of thought, poetry, and contemporary work divided into four sections: Story, People, Place, and Dream. This collection is dedicated to the question of the story of the Jewish people and the connection to their land and examines these affinities from renewed prisms and directions of thought. The collection concludes with a title page dedicated to sketching the visionary picture we aspire to as individuals and as a nation, a picture that moves on the axis between the need to wear realistic and sober glasses and the need to add to them a lens that embodies the worthy, the dreamy, the hoped-for. The second part of the book collects inspiring speeches and memoirs delivered during the Iron Sword War by commanders, leaders, social leaders, family members, and community members, which reflect the spirit of the times and its challenges.
