- Summary:
- "The conversations between Chie Machida and Tim Maul cross cultural, linguistic and artistic lines. In the first conversation, Maul's photographs speak to Machida's un-translated Japanese text. In the second, Machida translates Maul's English texts into Japanese and there are no images, only descriptions of images. These are followed by further conversations between strategies of representation: pages of full bleed photographs of the floor interrupted by images of the ocean floor, exposed at low tide and the phrase "Armada Graveyard." The book concludes with two more series of photographs: actors rehearsing and small statues silently conversing."-- provided by distributor.
