Summary:

Ketubah on parchment, created in Florence, Italy, Wednesday, 8 Ṭevet 5554 (December 12, 1793; Florence here is called "פירנצי מתא דיתבא על נהרי ארנו ומוניוני, referring to the Arno and Mugnone rivers), for the marriage of ʻOvadiah Servi and Malkah bat Gavriʼel Aryeh Bolaffi; autographed by witnesses Daniel Terni (rabbi in Florence, poet and author of ʻIḳre dinim (Florence, 1795) on Jewish law, among other works), Yehudah Ḥayyim Finzi, and Samuele Servi; additional Italian notarial paragraph signed by Abramo Levi Vallessante.

Item cut to shape an arched tablet at top; ketubah text surrounded by a border layout of large Hebrew calligraphic versals (Ashkenazi-Gothic majuscules, filled in green and brown ink), waisting and flairing with flourishes and lettercrowns; each ductus joined by a concentric round knot.

Municipal seal of the city of Florence at upper center in gilt.

Written in an Italian square script, in a scribal hand.
