- Summary:
- The French typically start their workday at 9:00 a.m. or earlier and work until around 6:00 p.m. Executives are often expected to work longer, until 7:00 or 8:00 p.m., typically continuing with email communications. Learn more about what managers expect from workers during workday hours. The French workday no longer has the traditional long lunch, and the trend in Paris for a one-hour lunch is similar to what you'd experience in other major global cities. There is one major difference between France and other countries, however--the French are not very likely to eat lunch at their desks.
