- Summary:
- Children's activities tend to keep German parents busy. Unlike schools in many other Western countries, most schools in Germany don't offer extracurricular or intramural sports or other activities. Anyone wishing to take up a musical instrument or play a sport must either take private music lessons or join a sports club. The same goes for other activities outside school. The most popular activity for kids in Germany is sports, and almost every neighborhood has tennis courts and soccer fields. Most parents feel quite safe leaving their children to play outside unsupervised. Explore the ways kids spend their free time.
