Summary:
The CADTH Canadian Drug Expert Committee (CDEC) recommends that esketamine not be reimbursed for the treatment of MDD in adults. The results of two four-week randomized controlled trials (RCTs) (TRD3001 and TRD3002) and one randomized withdrawal study (TRD3003) did not demonstrate a consistent statistically significant benefit with esketamine in combination with a newly initiated oral antidepressant compared with placebo in combination with a newly initiated oral antidepressant, in the indicated population.
