Summary:
I. "Russian Boy Scouts. One of Russia's Boy Scouts, although only fifteen. He has been decorated by the Czar for conspicuous bravery whilst on active service." Russian Boy Scouts. The boy, in uniform, holds the reins of a pony which, with the help of two adults, he manages to mount. He rides past a line of Boy Scouts, saluting them as he goes. II. "Review of Danish Troops. The King of Denmark reviewing his army in Copenhagen. All the neutral nations of Europe are compelled to keep their armies in readiness." Danish troops on parade. Crowds lining the road cheer as King Christian X drives past in an open car. The review takes place in an open field, watched by a large crowd. Infantry, Motorcyclists, cavalry and horse artillery pass by. III. "The Great Blizzard. The greatest blizzard for thirty five years, causes enormous damage throughout the country. Trees uprooted in London squares, fences and buildings blown down." Storm damage in London. Branches are cleared from one of the trees blown down during the storm by a group of men; a woman with two small children talks to one of the men. A wooden hut lies wrecked; more toppled trees are shown. IV. "Wrecked by the Storm. A factory in course of construction is completely wrecked by the gale, girders and stanchions being twisted into all sorts of weird shapes." Continuation of item 3. Shots of the ruined factory, with men attempting to repair the broken beams, although it is clear that it is a hopeless case. Twisted girders are strewn across the ground. Rubble is cleared.
