Summary:
I. "GUN POWER". The enemy has already learned how terrible is our gun power. Here the great guns of a super battleship are trained seaward where floats the greatest assembly of naval guns in the world.' MS aft from forecastle down the starboard side of a Hercules Class battleship to the wing turret - the forward 4-inch guns are trained over the beam. Pan left to distant battleship of the Grand Fleet. MS pan right to left over forecastle to show A turret. II. '"OUR DAY". Every one bought flags, from Princess to coster. The daughters of Lady Grace presided over the quaint "Black Cat" stall in the Haymarket.' An Army officer buys a paper flower (?) from a woman in St John's uniform. A lady sells flowers from a stall. Young women and children - all in cat-masks - hold trays full of Union Jack flags and souvenirs - the trays bear the legend 'Remember our Wounded'. The Lieutenant featured earlier buys a flag and a fashionable lady standing nearby leans forward to pin it onto his uniform. An old lady approaches from the background and makes a purchase. III. 'THE KING'S GRACIOUS WELCOME. His Majesty called at the Portuguese Legation to take the President of Portugal to lunch at Buckingham Palace.' Coach arrives and President Machado gets out and enters legation. Another coach arrives and King George V, wearing military uniform, enters the legation. A small crowd looks on as the King leaves. IV. 'PRINCE ARTHUR ON THE FRENCH FRONT. His Royal Highness who is most popular in France takes the salute at a review of splendid troops.' LS over grassy field as French troops march past. MS 3/4 rear view of the Prince as he takes the salute. V. 'PRINCE ARTHUR IN NOYON. His Royal Highness visits Noyon to decorate French heroes and salutes the bullet riddled banner of the deathless Chasseurs.' Prince Arthur walks along a rank of soldiers fallen in on cobbled square in Noyon. MS profile as he decorates a soldier. He salutes as troops pass in review. Cut to Arthur and retinue walking along a tree-lined country road - a soldier stands on the grass verge holding a tattered regimental flag which the Prince salutes.
