Summary:
Main title "The women's procession of war workers marching through the West End with a tableau, in honour of Lord Kitchener's memory". Scenes of the procession held by the Women's Social and Political Union between the Embankment and Trafalgar Square. Women are seen in procession marching past the camera, with banners displaying slogans in support of the Australian Premier, W.M. Hughes (e.g. 'Come Back Hughes Come at Once', 'Hughes is Needed Here and Now'). They are followed by women in costume including Olive Terry as the Archangel Michael, Miss Farmer-Bringhurst as Joan of Arc, Boadicea, Britannia and Queen Elizabeth. Four women follow on horseback, followed in turn by more women carrying banners supporting Hughes. MR LLOYD GEORGE WATCHES THE PROCESSION "The Secretary for War watches the women marching past the War Office". Continuation of above item. Long shot of the balcony of the War Office shows [apparently] Lloyd George, Winston Churchill and Herbert Samuel, amongst a small group. Two floats pass the camera followed by women carrying a banner entitled 'Our Overseas Dominions' and those with the Hughes banners. Women dressed in white carrying staffs decorated with flowers.
