A flow of molten rock moves towards the camera, burning and destroying trees in its path. Villagers preparing for evacuation. A viaduct collapses under the flow, watched by crowds. [2ND SUBTITLE]: "This, the worst eruption for 2000 years, has already destroyed the villages of Mascati and Nunziata, and the lava stream still continues on its terrible journey of devastation". An evacuated street of houses is destroyed as the lava advances.
