Summary:

"KHAKI SPORTS Men in training take part in Sack race and a Full Equipment Race. Great amusement is derived from the Pillow Fight." (9) Equipment and uniforms are piled in rows on the grass. The soldiers put on puttees, button jackets, hats and put kit bags over their shoulders. They turn and begin to run. ELS crowds watching the race (38). Finish of a sack race. The winner and others are met by soldiers in uniform who check them off on a list (48). Two men sit opposite each other on a pole which is erected over a tarpaulin filled with water. They hit each other with pillows; one soldier drops his pillow and uses his hand to push the other soldier off the pole, but he swings round underneath the pole still clutching the sack.
