- The Gordon-Bennett Cup balloon race, featuring 'Goodyear III'. "The Belgian Gordon-Bennett Cup was contested by 15 balloons of which three, 'Banshee', 'Bee' and 'Miramar' were British. The prize fell to the American 'Goodyear III', which landed at Solvesberg, Sweden, 510 miles from the starting point, Antwerp.
