Summary:
"What Did He Say To Them?" Labour delegates who entered Downing St. to "stop the war", left, saying, "Premier must not be embarrassed."(0. 15). Labour delegates (men and women) walking along wall from Downing Street (the street is not recognisable as Downing St). (0.42). Note: Refers to a meeting between David Lloyd George as Prime Minister and Labour Party delegates. Presumably the issue - "the war" is the possible war with Turkey over the Canak (Chanak) Incident (23/9/1922) in which Turkish cavalry violated a neutral zone. Lloyd George's reckless foreign policy nearly led to an unnecessary war with Turkey.
