"THE NAVVY'S BATTALION. The 26th Middlesex (The Pioneers) has been largly recruiting from the navvy class. Marching past in column. Col. Ward M.P. wants more men to complete the battalion.". March past of French (sic) soldiers. They pass a large monument surrounded by wreaths and with a grandstand on which dignitaries stand [This is the "Patriots at Champigny. The annual pilgrimage at Champigny La Bataill organised by M. Maurice Barres to honour the patriots who have died for their country." - intertitle missing]. Closer view of the stand, three men make speeches. The Navvy battalion on parade; they march past.
