Summary:
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a statistical test developed in the early 1900s by Ronald Fisher, a British geneticist and statistician, to evaluate treatment variables in his plant breeding experiments. It is used to determine if groups of things or people differ. It is often applied to medical research because of its effectiveness in examining the differences between treatment groups in experiments, but it is also very useful in business research. The theory is explained, and practical uses are outlined. Suggestions of classroom use, and evaluation are included.
