Typescript letter from W.A. Pitt-Pitts to H.D. Hooper discussing the probable implications for land tenure and African welfare of the British administration's decision to allow gold mining in the Kavirondo Reserve. Attached is a memorandum from A. de V. Wade, Chief Native Commissioner, called Mining; it explains why gold mining is allowed in native reserves. The 2nd memorandum is Native lands trust ordinance : memorandum in relation to gold mining in the Kavirondo Reserve.
