- Cret was an architect & instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Beaux arts style.
- Summary:
- Drawings and blueprints of various buildings including Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress, Penn State College / Berks Community- Student Learning Center, University of Pennsylvania -- Chemistry Building, West Point Library, the French Embassy, the Pan-American Union Building, the Main Building & Library Extension of the University of Texas, and Bird's Eye View of the Park Boulevard from City Hall to Fairmount Park. There are also specifications for such projects as the Frankford War Memorial, and Central Heating Plant, Washington, D.C., and plans for various residences, dams, post offices, banks, and bridges. The collection also includes photographs of some of the completed projects.
- Includes original drawings, photomechanical reproductions, correspondence, and specification of the works of Paul P. Cret from 1903 until his death in 1945, with additional materials from members of the successor firm, primarily John Harbeson, for the continuation of these projects after Cret's death. Most of Cret's projects are represent, in part, within the archives, including projects in France, Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
