- Summary:
- "A single issue of Jam Session was published by Jam Session Inc. of Rockefeller Center, New York. Headed by Egbert White, a journalist who would publish newspapers by and for US soldiers during the Second World War, Jam Session featured publicity-oriented, sensationalistic, often humorous and titillating articles on musicians, big band leaders, and others in the music industry. Of note is the cover story, “Musicians Make Lousy Lovers” and its counterpoint, “My Husband’s a Musician – and I Love Him.” The editors describe the process of producing Jam Session as a trip to the “Booby Hatch” – slang for a psychiatric hospital – but from their editorial, they seemed to enjoy their journey"-- RIPM Jazz.
