Summary:

"Music Views is Capitol Records's continuation of its promotional magazines Music News and The Capitol News from Hollywood from 1943-1952. It maintains much of its predecessors' formatting, though it shrunk to 32 pages in 1953, likely due to stylistic changes in the layout that includes full-page images and tightly printed prose. The magazine’s content focuses on human-interest stories across the music and performance industry. As the decade progresses, more page space is devoted to visual media such as photos and movie stills. Many pages contain small paragraphs about the professional and personal lives of entertainment industry public figures, and alternate with longer articles written by guest contributors profiling performers and venues. Some of the section headings persist from Music News, such as “Vamp ‘Till Ready,” a recurring column that relays behind-the-scenes anecdotes from film sets and recording studios. The magazine also includes a listing of performance dates and locations along the tours of major artists on Capitol Records.
